I write this email to show my support and appreciation to AsPaC (Assisi Palliative Care) and members of the palliative care team. Due to the fact that my late Dad didn’t want to go to hospital and preferred the comfort of his home, I faced the dilemma of a tough battle ahead as I had no idea on how to navigate this predicament I was in. With sheer luck, I was informed by a doctor about AsPaC. With one phone call, they were there to assist me steer the ship in the right direction. With unwanted opinions from well-meaning people, the AsPaC team steered me in the right direction with their sound and clear advice. They also guided me through the process of attaining a medical bed, medical equipment etc. Together with frequent visits to check on my dad they also made time to check with the family on how we were coping. For this I am truly grateful. For those who are going through or may go through the same journey, I would like to point out how this experience has deepened my appreciation for the invaluable work done by AsPaC. They were there for me when I couldn’t think and they helped me process everything. Thank you. GOOD JOB AsPaC!! On a side note: NURSE WENNIE – your patience with my family and your constant care is truly remarkable. I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you. DR PEARL – beyond your wit, it was your heartfelt compassion and willingness to truly listen – especially to my mum’s stories – that meant so much to us. It’s rare and refreshing to see someone who genuinely loves what they do. DR LALITHA – Thank you for your expertise, wisdom and time. You went straight to the point and that is truly appreciated. I apologise to those that I’ve missed out, but, thank you for helping me through this tough time. I have attached a small donation from my family to you. SINCERELY NEIL ELROY FERNANDEZ
